This is the introductory presentation from the 'Opening UCL: An Afternoon Symposium on Open Education' event which was held at UCL on 13 March 2019.

JDI Open is an open science journal-club & peer-mentoring group at the UCL Jill Dando Institute of Security and Crime Science. Our bi-weekly seminars provide the opportunity for students and staff at the department to learn about open science and discuss ideas to implement open science practices in their research. Poster submission made to the 'Learning on and with the Open Web' conference - a Mozilla Festival fringe event - held in Coventry, UK on 25 October 2015 (http://conf.owlteh.org/contributions/published/open-education-at-ucl/). The poster summarises the work of the UCL Open Education project so far, plans for the following year, and the project’s goals and intended outcomes, including how openness/connectedness contributes to teaching and learning.
